As you may know, I received the newest American Girl doll Joss for my birthday. Ever since she was introduced I wanted to have her. American Girl always makes such inspirational characters. Joss was created to be an athlete with a passion for surfing and cheer and born with hearing loss. I love that she has a hearing aid. Her story instills confidence and encourages girls to think beyond their limitations and of what they are capable of.
I was happy to find out that Joss's meet outfit consisted of a swimsuit. I think that Joss is the very first Girl of the Year doll that has a swimsuit as a part of the meet outfit. I didn't have a swim suit for any of my other dolls.
When you receive Joss, she comes with a hearing aid, two actually for the same ear. I do have to say I've noticed the hearing aid does pop out of the ear. Maybe that is why they gave two of them. If anyone has come across this problem with their Joss and has fixed it, please comment down below and let me know.
Anyway, I ADORE Joss and her collection. I think Joss is a great doll with a great story and I am so happy to have her in my growing collection.
Below is little about Joss's story.
When the surf's up, Joss pops out her hearing aid, hops on her board, and paddles up to the lineup. Joss is stoked to enter a surfing video contest with her surf sister Sophia and her surfing bulldog Murph. If she can master a killer trick like the front side air and get her brother Dylan to catch it on video, maybe she'd even have a shot at winning. But Dylan throws a curve. He dares her to try out for cheer leading and make the team. Will Joss make the team and win the bet? Or will Joss loose the bet and forget about the contest.
